- Have You Completed and Submitted Your MIN Application? (1/6/12) Registering for the class with your counselor doesn't mean you're in MIN! You must also complete a course application. If you don't submit the application to the instructor you may lose you seat in the class. Check the Registration/Application Status page to see if you're application has been received. Click here to download a copy of the MIN 2012 Application.
- 2012 Bald Mt Trail Challenges Scheduled (12/14/11) This year's schedule of required pre-trip hikes has been posted. Check the dates at BaldMtTrailChallenges.
- Routes and Reservations are Ready (12/7/11) Thanks to Wil's efforts we have our reservations and routes done for the 2012 Killarney Experience. And yes - we have both camps at Nellie this year! Check out the routes HERE and thank Wil when you get the chance.
- Fabric Cutting and Closet Cleaning (11/12/11) Great day at the school today working on organizing the gear in the storage closet and cutting the panels for our remaining high-tech ultralight team shelters. Special thanks to today's volunteers: Wil, LOUHow, Bobby, Aaron, Scott, Kane, and Lily for your help! Many hands make for light work and MIN appreciates your help. Check some more pictures of the day's activities.
- Shelter Builders Need Your Help! (11/7/11) - This coming Saturday, 11/12, a crew of shelter builders will be gathering in the cafeteria at Lahser to cut fabric panels for the last four of MIN's new high-tech shelters. If you're available to put in a couple of hours between 8:00 am - Noon we sure could use the help. mbarry@bloomfield.org to let us know.
- Looking Ahead to MIN 2012 (10/19/11) - There are still openings in the class for the second semester this year. If you're interested in MIN, or know a senior who might be, have them contact Mike Barry - mbarry@bloomfield.org - for more information and to have any questions or concerns answered.
- More Ultralight Shelters On the Way (10/19/11) - Wil has placed the order with Seattle fabrics for enough high-tech, lightweight, silicon-impregnated nylon to complete the shelter fabrication project. MIN is on the verge of equipping every team with this really amazing piece of wilderness tech. Now the tricky part - we need ready, willing, and able people to help with the pattern cutting, assembly, sewing, and sealing. We're looking at a Saturday or Sunday in November (before Thanksgiving). If you have some expertise and time - or just elbow grease and time - we sure could use your help. Contact Mike Barry (mbarry@bloomfield.org) if you're willing to lend a hand.
